New this month

Modulr Mobile Approvals App

We’re excited to launch our mobile experience for managing approvals. The Modulr Mobile Approvals App is a companion to the Modulr Portal that streamlines the approvals process. You'll receive real-time push notifications when you have payments or payment batches ready to approve, and can approve them directly on your device. (iOS and Android phones and tablets).

Key features:

  • Push notifications for instant approval attention
  • Biometric security
  • Approve single or batch payments
  • View your clients' accounts and balances

Continue to use the Modulr Portal for making payments, managing users, viewing transactions and all other features.

Find more information on the readme page.

Cards | Specifying a Cancellation Date on Cards

You can now use the existing Create and Update card endpoints to specify a card cancellation date in advance, improving previous functionality which only allowed you to cancel a card on the day.

Please see API Integration overview for more detail.

Modulr Sandbox | Changes to Notification Webhook IP Addresses

To continue improving our services, we’re making changes to the public IP addresses used by our
Sandbox environment.

If you grant access to Modulr’s Sandbox services into your network via a firewall (for example, to
receive notification webhooks), you must make updates to ensure that service remains
uninterrupted.

Please add the following IP address to any firewall rulesets that permit Modulr’s Sandbox
environment to access to your systems:

  • Address: 99.81.153.184
  • Description: Modulr Sandbox

No existing rules or addresses will be revoked at this time.

Changes to our sandbox services to start using this IP address will take effect from March 12th. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Customer Support team.

Minor Enhancements & Bugs Resolved

Faster Payments | Blocking Payment Reference Profanities

In line with new Pay.UK guidance, we will be blocking all Faster Payments that contain a profanity in the end to end reference (field 120). The payment will enter a failed state with the string saying “profanity included in reference”.

As of the 1st January 2024, the following outbound payment types will be blocked if a profanity is included; BACS, Swift Outbound and Faster Payments.

You can find more information about Outbound payments here.

CHAPS | Sending a CHAPS Payment To Accounts That Are Not FPS-enabled

Outbound Faster Payments that are greater than £10,000, submitted to a payee sort code which is not Faster Payments enabled, will now be sent via CHAPS.

The change will be effective as of the 1st January 2024.
